Webinar: Exploring Transformative Equality for Combating Gendered Power Dynamics

The 30th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and platform for action marks an important milestone, celebrating the progress made while also taking stock of the work that still lies ahead in achieving true gender equality.

WO=MEN and her members and partners have joined efforts to organise a year-long Beijing+30 Campaign in the Netherlands. RE-WIRING project and Politica organise this session in light of the campaign. More information on the Campaign and the full programme can be found here.

Join us for an insightful webinar on the RE-WIRING Project, designed to shed light on foundational strategies for addressing gendered power hierarchies and fostering Transformative Equality.

This session will dive into essential topics such as:

  • Understanding the interdisciplinary RE-WIRING Project: An introduction to the project’s objectives and dimensions.
  • Root Causes of Gendered Power Hierarchies: Explore the systemic roots of gendered power structures and learn about the Transformative Equality Approach (TEA).
  • The Importance of identification of “Root Causes”: Why shifting from “fixing the women” to “fixing the institutions” is crucial for lasting change.
  • Examples of Power Dynamics in Decision-Making: Key insights on power in politics and in crises contexts.
  • Applying TEA in Policy Advocacy: Providing some practical guidance for civil society to influence policymakers and enhancing lobby efforts.

An important feature of the RE-WIRING project is our ongoing engagement with all stakeholders, by including their views and experiences and ensuring project outcomes meet their needs. This webinar will also include a Q&A session, providing an opportunity to bring to our attention your key issues in dealing with policymakers.
